Hi is an archaeologist officer of the Soprintendenza Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio per le Provincie di Pisa e Livorno del Ministero della CulturaMinisterio per i Beni e le Attività Culturali, responsible for the restoration of ancient ships of Pisa, designer of the Museo delle Navi Antiche of Pisa, which he has directed since its opening. He has taken part in numerous research projects, in particular in Etruria. Specialist in ceramology, ancient topography, naval and underwater archeology. He is currently the director of the Museo delle Navi Antiche of Pisa and of the Restoration Center of Wet Wood and official in charge of the Superintendence of Archaeological Heritage of Tuscany for the territory of Populonia and for the underwater heritage of the provinces of Pisa and Livorno. He also participated in the organizing committee of the Mar Exterior Conference held in Pisa in 2003.
