The Easter Week procession has been rooted in the culture of many towns in the Basque Country, but none has preserved it like the town of Segura in Gipuzkoa. Segura has kept this celebration alive for decades. The procession, which involves more than 400 participants, winds through the picturesque streets of the village, depicting in detail every key moment in the life of Jesus.

Figures such as the Roman soldiers, Pontius or the Nazarenes mingle with the txistularis in this celebration. It is a unique proposal that does not resemble the one that takes place in the rest of the territories.

From Maundy Thursday, when the penitents stand guard until Good Friday, when the tomb and the Dolorosa take centre stage, the procession is a living expression of faith and community devotion. Experience the emotional intensity of this unique event, where history and tradition intertwine in a cultural manifestation.

Segura is a town worth visiting at any time of the year. Stroll through its medieval streets and visit the Medieval Interpretation Centre, where, through its exhibitions and projections, you will travel to that Medieval Euskadi full of curiosities.
