Jon Maya

Dancer

He started dancing at the age of six in Ereintza Dantza Taldea from Errenteria. He has received his main training in traditional dance and from there he has worked on her projects. As a soloist, he was seven times champion of the Aurreskularis of Euskal Herria between 1997 and 2005. Between 1999 and 2001 he was part of the Laxok group, and after this project, in 2002, he founded the Kukai company. Since then he has been a dancer, choreographer and director in this company, delving into the paths between traditional and contemporary dance and collaborating with numerous artists. Thus, Mireia Gabilondo, Cesc Gelabert, La intrusa Danza, Pantxika Telleria, Iker Gómez, Jone San Martín, Israel Galván, Logela Multimedia, Oreka Tx, Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi, Juan Mari Beltrán, Carlos Núñez, etc. have collaborated. Since 1997 he has been a teacher at the School of Music and Dance of Errenteria Musikal and also teaches classes at Ereintza Dantza Taldea. In addition, he has offered various choreographic workshops both in the Basque Country and in foreign cities and festivals.

Luisa Etxenike

Luisa Etxenike is a writer born in San Sebastian. She has published, among others: the novels Absoluta presencia, El detective de sonidos, El ángulo ciego (Euskadi Award), Los peces negros, Vino; and the plays La herencia (Buero Vallejo Award), Gernika es ahora and La entrevista; and the poetry collection El arte de la pesca. She is the director of Canal Europa and she runs the literary festival Un mundo de Escritoras. She was awarded the distinction of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government.
